We started to cycle in year of 2010 and done quite a lot of cycling tour in Malaysia. Malaysia is not as bicycle friendly as others country but it is quite interesting to explore, you can definitely experience the different from each town to another town, from a Malay fishing village to Chinese town. There are no specific bicycle lane in Malaysia, but you could share with motorcycle lane, it is quite safe to cycling on the road but not busy city.
Malaysia formed by East Malaysia and West Malaysia. East Malaysia is not as developed as West Malaysia but it is famous for the tropical rainforest and all the native village. We still haven't got the chance to cycle in East Malaysia yet but would do it after we graduate. There are two different route you can choose with in West Malaysia- the East Coastal Route or the West Coastal Route. East part is famous for beach and islands, you can always find yourself surrounded by the coconut trees and seaside. West part is quite developed and you could pass through many different towns and cities, from UNESCO heritage site to the city centre and beach too. We cycle more in the West part - Malacca, Taiping, Perak and etc.
This website is just created for our bicycle journals and memories and hope to share some informations and experiences for others. This website will splits into two parts- cycling in Malaysia and Europe. The website is still under constructions as I normally wrote all journals in Mandarin, it needs time to translate and rewrite it in English version due to my poor English level.
